    Trailering Technology

    An exciting new addition to the GMC Sierra 1500 is the ProGrade Trailering System. This available system was first introduced on the 2020 Sierra HD. It comes with an impressive 15 available cameras so you can see what’s happening all around your truck. It even offers an “invisible” trailer view, so you know what is coming up behind you when pulling anything with one of the 1500’s more-than-capable powertrain options.

    For 2020, the in-vehicle Trailering App comes with updated features to make it even more versatile. You’ll be able to create multiple trailer profiles through the myGMC app, then load them into the Sierra’s system. You can even share settings with other Sierra drivers.

    Another available smart technology feature in the myGMC app is the ability to control certain trailer features, like a water heater or air conditioning. This lets you make your trailer as comfortable as possible when you arrive at your destination.

      Engine Options

      The 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 will feature six impressive powertrain combinations to choose from. Five of them are returning options, while the new 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel looks to upset the status quo. It comes paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and is rated at 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. When properly equipped, this monster of an engine can tow up to 9,300 pounds.
