What Do Your Dashboard Lights Mean

Your vehicle features a long list of dashboard lights to help you better understand your vehicle. These icons can be a bit confusing, which is why we’ve put together a guide of the more common dashboard lights and what they mean for your vehicle.

Check Engine Light

The check engine light features an icon that resembles an engine with the words “check” or “check engine” underneath it. This light indicates a reminder for you to bring your vehicle in for a check-up. This light may turn for a number of reason, and any engine issues require immediate attention.

    Tire Pressure Warning

    Your tires’ pressure can help improve your ride, increase fuel efficiency, and keep you safe out on the road. This light looks like the front of a tire with an exclamation point. It informs you of when your car’s tire pressure is outside of the recommended range. Get your tires inflated so that your car can continue to run smoothly.

      Seat Belt Reminder

      This light is pretty self-explanatory. It reminds you to wear your seat belt if you haven’t done so and looks like a person with a seat belt on. The seat belt reminder will likely give you an audio cue as well. Once you buckle up, its dinging will stop.

        High Beam Indicator

        When you turn on your brights in the dark part of the evening, the high beam indicator icon will illuminate on your dashboard. This blue light is the shape of a headlamp with four dashes. It will let you know if they are on, allowing you to turn them off when you approach incoming traffic.
